PROJECTS: WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, THE FASCINATION OF DIGITAL ART...
I draw what inspires me and it's from books! At a young age, I was reading many japanease manga books and would draw anime characters from there for fun. As I got a lot older, I would still read, but more of comic books or YA/NA romance novels (paranormal fantasy or comtemporary romance). It does take me a lot longer than others to read due to my dyslexia. "Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding). Also called reading disability, dyslexia affects areas of the brain that process language." In time, the audiobook/e-books became quite popular and I end up not only reading but listening to my books at the same time. This was quite incredible to me and I guess I can say I am proud of being a bookworm...I think?
The point is Rachel Van Dyken is my favorite author and one day, one of her assistants, Becca, asked me to draw the characters in one of her books, 1 drawing, as a b-day gift. Granted at this time, I was still learning my art abilites on Procreate App, but she gave me a big opportunity to draw! I truly appreciate for Rachel Van Dyken and her assistants, Becca & Jill, for always encouaraging me to keep going, keep drawing what I love. Without them reaching out, I might not continue on with the fascination of digital art. I will always be forever grateful for Rachel Van Dyken's stories and her amazing team. With that said, here are a couple of examples below.
